Terry Armstrong is a Hoosier-born artist. Greatly influenced by visits to
his grandparents' Indiana farm and the natural beauty of the area, he uses
the spontaneity of watercolor and the style of realism to capture the true
essence of the Midwest. Although many of his paintings focus on the simple
life of rural America, the artwork is also representative of the changing
seasons and his childhood memories.
Having spent most of his childhood in Columbia City, Indiana, Terry earned
a Bachelor of Arts Degree in both fine art and commercial art from Indiana
University/Purdue University, Ft. Wayne. He retired from Biomet, Inc.,as
manager of marketing communications. He now focuses on painting full
time, instructing workshops, as well as teaching a watercolor class at
Grace College in Warsaw. His paintings have been exhibited in numerous
galleries and art museums in the United States and have captured many honors.
